Some say doing a daily or weekly Equity SIP gives better averaging, leading to better returns.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Can more frequent SIPs generate better returns?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What should be the ideal frequency for a SIP?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s find out&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We checked for<strong> Equity SIP returns in Nifty 50 TRI <\/strong>(the most commonly used large cap equity benchmark index) <strong>across different frequencies &#8211; daily, weekly, and monthly <\/strong>and<strong> across different time frames &#8211; last 10 years, 15 years, and 20 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is what we found\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color:#0059fe\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Equity SIP Returns for various frequencies over the last 10 years&#8230;<\/span>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundsindia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/R1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"512\" height=\"186\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fundsindia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/R1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25438\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fundsindia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/R1.png 512w, https:\/\/fundsindia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/R1-300x109.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#05d864\" class=\"has-inline-color\">As seen above, the SIP returns are almost similar across daily, weekly, and monthly!<\/span><br><br><\/strong>Let\u2019s extend this to see how the SIP returns look over a 15-year time frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color:#0059fe\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Equity SIP Returns for various frequencies over the last 15 years&#8230;<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundsindia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/R2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"512\" height=\"186\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fundsindia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/R2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25439\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fundsindia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/R2.png 512w, https:\/\/fundsindia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/R2-300x109.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#05d864\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Similar to the conclusion we drew from the 10-year data, even over a 15-year time frame the returns are almost similar across daily, weekly, or monthly SIPs!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s extend this to see how the SIP returns look over a 20-year time frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color:#0059fe\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Equity SIP Returns for various frequencies over the last 20 years&#8230;<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundsindia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/R3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"512\" height=\"188\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fundsindia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/R3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25440\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fundsindia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/R3.png 512w, https:\/\/fundsindia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/R3-300x110.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#05d864\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Yet again, the returns are almost similar! There is no significant advantage gained by doing a daily or weekly SIP.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><span style=\"color:#0059fe\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Insight: <br>Over long periods of time, the frequency of your Equity SIP does not make much of a difference. Doing a daily or weekly Equity SIP does not give any significant advantage over a simple monthly Equity SIP.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>So what do we suggest?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#05d864\" class=\"has-inline-color\">We suggest doing a monthly Equity SIP.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It is simple and easy to manage a monthly SIP. <\/strong>More frequent SIPs make it unnecessarily complex and also do not give any major benefit in terms of returns.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color:#0059fe\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Summing it up&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Over long periods of time, the frequency of an Equity SIP does not make any significant difference to overall returns.
